GENERAL RULES

There are 1000 different ways to heal a tattoo. Please keep in mind that typically tattooers cater their aftercare based on how their clients have best results and may vary from artist to artist.

Remember that your tattoo is a wound. Tight clothes, and surface friction in general can lead to a difficult heal.

You must avoid sun, submerging your tattoo in standing water, and high intensity exercise until the tattoo has fully healed.

Depending on your body, your tattoo will typically take 2-4 weeks to heal.

If you have any issues, questions, or concerns about the healing of your tattoo, please reach out to me directly.

BASIC AFTERCARE

Leave bandage on minimally overnight and up to 24 hours unless otherwise specified.

Wash tattoo last in shower using Liquid Dial Gold Original FormulaI.

Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly before washing the tattoo.

Wash tattoo in gentle circular motions with fingertips until nothing is left on the area that feels slimy. Once the area does not feel slimy, blast area with cold water for 30-60 seconds.

Blot dry with paper towel.

Let tattoo air dry for 30-60 minutes.

Rewash hands and apply thin layer of unscented lotion.

I recommend either unscented Aveeno or Lubriderm.

TEGADERM

While I love this product, a lot of individuals are highly allergic. Be sure to apply a test strip for at least 24 hours before our appointment to insure you are not sensitive to this product. Due to the fact that many individuals are allergic to this product, I do not hand it out to my clients, but you’re welcome to purchase your own for aftercare use.

There are many different brands. I recommend; Tegaderm saniderm-second skin(can only be purchased by tattooers)
